Style

What does style have to do with faith? How can the two be held in the same blog?

Did you know, if you know Jesus personally, you are royalty? Do you realize we are daughters of the King? Not too long ago I challenged myself with this question. It might sound silly but for one week, every morning before I got ready for the day, I told myself, “you are a daughter of the King.” With that confidence and declaration of truth, I not only felt I should give myself a little extra time and attention, I wanted too. As I took this little bit of extra time, I didn’t feel guilty. In fact, I felt validated. It is a good thing to take care of the vessel God has given us. You see, I might describe myself as a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a woman, an interpreter. But, God describes me as chosen, royal, holy and special.

1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

You and me and you and you and you. Yes, you too! No exceptions. No eye rolls. No, “weeeeell, that’s what it says but that’s not what it means.” Nope. That’s what it says and that’s what it means. If you follow Jesus, then you are a daughter of the King! I also believe God looks at your heart. And I truly believe that’s what makes each one of us beautiful but it doesn’t stop there. I have this passion inside of me that wants you to see yourself as God, your maker, sees you inwardly and outwardly. I once heard it said that, confidence means learning to see yourself the way God sees you. I truly believe when God sees you look in the mirror with disappointment only seeing your “flaws”, His heart sinks. But when you look in the mirror with confidence, He beams . You know how I know this? Because when I see my daughter discontent with her appearance, my heart sinks. When I see her eyes sparkle with a twirl in front of the mirror? I beam! I used to think my passion for fashion was frivolous. I’d question if I was vain. But God has revealed to me that women need inspiration to walk in the confidence of how He sees them. Not ten pounds lighter or with a nip here and a tuck there, but just as they are glowing in their royalty from their Majesty. It is my hope that the style blurb in this blog helps you to gain some confidence. That you will allow yourself to be presented as a daughter of the King because you are and you are worth it. Full stop.
