The question is not whether you can find a graphic tee that is perfect for you. Because there is no shortage of unique graphics. Your favorite band, Bible verse, sports team, flowers, animals, designs of all kinds. I’ve seen them all. The most important questions are, do you own one yet? And if not, what are you waiting for?! I’d put a graphic tee in the category of “must haves” for everyone’s wardrobe. Whether your style is classic, vintage, sporty, grunge, preppy or casual; there is a graphic tee that will fit your specific style.
If you are one of those rare people out there that doesn’t own a graphic tee OR you have one buuut it sits in your closet waiting to be chosen, then this is the post for you! Friend, there are so many ways graphic tees can be worn. You don’t have to wait for “favorite sports day” at work or for the band to come into town. Your tee doesn’t only want to be chosen for Saturdays, it wants to be chosen most days!
Let’s start with wearing it as the statement piece. Let it stand out! Wear it as is. Pair it with a pair of jeans, joggers or skirt. Add accessories to pull it together. For example, the other day I wore my “way maker” tee with a pair of white jeans. I added a bow in my hair and some feminine jewelry and called it a day. Let’s just say your favorite band is Deaf Leopard. Of course you’re wearing your distressed jeans and a cowboy hat. (OK, so you have to be a little bit careful with not going overboard. But you get what I mean, right?)
My favorite way to wear it is as a layer. Throw on a jacket, cardigan or flannel over the top. Let it peak out. There are endless ways to wear it when you decide to make it a staple for layering. I especially love my, “Made New,” tee with camo. utility jacket and a baseball cap. Recently I paired my cut-off denim shorts with my “Bruce Springsteen” tee and a long duster over the top. I added a black hat, earrings and some clogs. Using it as a layer allows it to be worn throughout the year. I’m telling you, the cost per wear out of your favorite tee will pay for itself!
Keep in mind that your graphic tee can be the top layer too! Wear a white button down under it, pop that collar and own it girl:) Pull it on over a dress to get more wear out of a dress that you might only wear a couple times a year. Make sure not to loose your waist though. knot the shirt at your waist or use a belt to tuck the shirt into.
